Memorial Weekend Fun

This weekend will definatly be very memorable! For the first time in 3 years Greg actually got to take Memorial day off. We found out last minute that he didn't have to work so we took full advantage of it. We left Friday afternoon and headed to Herriman. We Stayed at Jalaine and Koraks apartment. By the time we got there on Friday and settled in the kids were tired. They headed off to bed and I got to enjoy reading a book and Greg was able to play non kid games with Jalaine. Saturday morning came early with the kids ready to go. We were able to play the park and enjoy a walk before it started to rain. We decided to spend the rest of the day at the indoor pool. The had some awesome slides and lazy river. Caiden loves swimming and enjoyed going down the slide over and over again. This was Maci's first real time swimming. She was a little timid at first but got used to it real quick. She had mom and dad going down the slides the entire time! We finished the night off with some pizza and fresh baked cookies. Sunday we woke up to some more rainy weather so we decided to go to the Aquarium. We took Caiden there last year for his birthday but Maci obviously didn't remember it so she loved it this time. She enjoyed the sharks and sea turtles the best. She also enjoyed the pengiunes and being able to touch a hissing cockroach! Caiden LOVED the octopus and anaconda. He was still a little scarred from last years incident with the sting rays so he would not put his hand in the touch pool. After nap time the weather cleared up enough to go to the lake and throw rocks and play on the jungle gym playground. We had to fonosh the night off with a trip to the ice cream shop for some doubled scoop cones. Monday the weather was amazing so we took off for the zoo. The kids absolutly loved it there! The bird show was a hit along with all the other animals. They also enjoyed the merry-go-round and the train ride. Ater the kids were dead tired from all the walking around we headed out and stoped to get some delicious food at The Old Spaghetti Factory. With full bellies and tired eyes we headed home. The kids slept until we got to Great Grandpa Poulsen's house. They woke up and were so excited to see him. We visited him for awhile and then headed up to the cemetery to visit Great Grandma Poulsen's grave site. It was the best way to end our Memorial Day Weekend! We are so gratful to be a family and enjoy fun times together! I will post the pictures on Facebook!
